Q&A With Dynamite Duo Laura And Narelle From Mae & Jeune

Laura spills the tea on what it’s like starting a business as a mother / daughter team, turning shared passions and creativity into a unique way to spend time together.

Why did you start a business together?

We both share a love of interiors, design and spaces that make us feel happy and inspired. We also enjoy spending time together, so with our combined experience in the retail biz, we thought why not?!

What’s been your most memorable moment?

There’s been so many! The overall creation of our space and hosting Carina Chambers’ first exhibition in 2021, that was really wonderful.

What do you have planned for the future?

Source more fabulous designers, creators and designers for our store, and also collaborate more with other local businesses because the Tamworth area is filled with so many clever people!

If you could give one piece of advice about starting a small business with a family member, what would it be?

Be open, laugh – appreciate and understand your strengths, weaknesses, different views and opinions and you’ll learn from each other continuously.
