Nosh Narrabri is Back!
The event where foodie dreams come true is back this 26-27 August – and we suggest you get your tickets pronto.
Define ‘nosh’.
“To eat enthusiastically – you can nosh to your heart’s content.”
Don’t mind if we do! Enter NOSH Narrabri – the biennial food and drink festival that celebrates and promotes local and regional produce and products, as well as the providores who grow and make them.
Lucky for us, NOSH organisers are busily preparing for this year’s festival – so mark your diaries for 26-27 August. The weekend includes a jam-packed schedule of events and activities the whole family will enjoy. Crowd favourites making a triumphant return include the Great Australian Cheesecake competition, the hotly-contested NOSH BBQ Cook-Off and the Australian Regional Homebrew Championships. While the NOSH Long Lunch is locked and loaded for Sunday 27th, with a spring-themed feast featuring a four-course culinary experience created by Katrina White of Relish Catering.
The iconic event will also feature none other than regionally-based food writer Sophie Hansen, who will provide a cooking demonstration during the festival, as well as judging both the Cheesecake and BBQ cook-off competitions.
As for the kids, they’ll be kept busy thanks to a jumping castle, face painting and George the Farmer coming along to join in the fun. The popular children’s performer will be ready and raring to teach them all about where good food comes from.
NOSH President Kate Kahl is thrilled to bring the event back to the community after a challenging few years.
“The last NOSH event was held in 2019 – since then we have overcome the challenges of COVID and are now back in 2023 to celebrate 20 years since the festival was first held,” she said.
“Thanks to the tireless efforts of countless community volunteers, as well as the support from our partners and sponsors – especially our major 2023 partner the Port of Newcastle – we’re thrilled to deliver the much-anticipated food and drink festival locals and visitors from all over the region have come to know and love.”
The coveted NOSH Long Lunch tickets went on sale Sunday 9 July and are still available via the NOSH website NOSH Long Lunch — NOSH Narrabri. Be sure to grab a posse and book your Long Lunch tickets soon, as it is sure to be a sell out!
The NOSH Food and Drink Festival is free and open to all to attend. Bring your friends, family and enjoy a picnic in the picturesque surrounds of the Narrabri Creek parklands and soak in the foodie festival vibes!
