Meet Michelle Knott – Woman in Industry finalist 2024

FOUND Regional recently caught up with Brooklyn Quarry’s Michelle Knott to hear all about her proud women in industry nomination.

Last month, Michelle Knott from Brooklyn Quarry attended the Women In Industry Awards at Dolton House in Sydney. She’d been named a finalist in the category for Business Development Success of the Year 2024 and was in the running for Woman of the Year 2024. #whoah

Women In Industry is a celebration of women who are acknowledged for their exceptional success through their invaluable leadership, innovation and commitment to their sector. While Michelle didn’t take out the top prize, to be a finalist against global and national companies like Orica, United Rentals and Cleanaway was a remarkable achievement for Michelle and Brooklyn Quarry.

Michelle stood in that room alongside many other incredible women in industry ranging from manufacturing, rail, engineering, logistics, transport to mining and more. Here’s what she had to say about the night.

“The stories were incredibly inspiring and so motivating. Closing the gender gap is something that can be achieved in this lifetime. These awards highlighted this. It’s happening. Our daughters should know no gender bias in their chosen field of work. This is important work to break down barriers and create new possibilities for the next generation.

“Brooklyn Quarry is on the trajectory to grow in the years to come, becoming an industry for our local community to grow with us. We thrive on being a locally, family-owned and operated Quarry and we are so proud to showcase not only Brooklyn Quarry, but also the entire New England region.”
